A Poem by Spike Milligan (a Fav of mine)

Young are our dead
Like babies they lie
The wombs they blest once
Not healed dry
And yet - too soon
Into each space
A cold earth falls
On colder face.
Quite still they lie
These fresh-cut reeds
Clutched in earth
Like winter seeds
But they will not bloom
When called by spring
To burst with leaf
And blossoming
They sleep on
In silent dust
As crosses rot
And helmets rust.

NFL Draft...

3 of the top 5 from OU... bleh.  I predict Bradford is hurt most of his first season.  That is all I have to say.

The tears remind us...

So I was just walking to the office to check my mailbox and witnessed one of my students crying in the hallway.  This particular student is one of the toughest kids I know, suspected gang ties and all that.  The tears remind me that when you take away all the posturing and tough shot mentality that these kids are just that... kids.  It saddens me when I compare my life as a 15 year old, pampered and protected in my all white community and my brand new car that Mommy and Daddy bought me; to that of these kids' reality which is much darker, surrounded by violence and crime, eyes wide open to the harsh reality of this world at such a young age.

All Hail Lord Randalism, King of Poo Stains...

I dig that I made this 5 minutes ago and I already have a follower! I am wondering if my blog might one day morph into a cult... Fuck coolaid, my cult will have Jello shots.

Fuck, it's crunch time again...

I love being a teacher... I absolutely hate the end of the damn year though. Not just the dip-shit standardized testing that assesses about as much as my asshole assesses magnetic North. It's the LOOOoooOOoOnNNNG ass NINE weeks straight with out so much as a fucking half day! No wonder half the teachers are calling in sick every damn Friday, we're so burned out if we didn't we might just end up killing each other, or the kids... The latter probably being the more likely. Talk about stress, these kids get so fired up in the Spring, they want to fight each other, have sex with each other and rebel against each other and everything in their paths including us poor Educators who happen to be standing in the path of hormonally crazed pot heads and juiced up repressed homophobes... All bow before Mother Nature, she has her way with the teenagers... and women in their 50's! That's all I got.
